As a follow-up to our GR8 Conference, we here bring an interview with one of the developers of our sponsor IntelliGrape Software, Deepak Mittal:
- Can you tell us more about you?
My name is Deepak Mittal, I am a Grails developer and co-founder of IntelliGrape Software.
IntelliGrape is an Agile software development company based in Delhi, India. We develop enterprise web applications on Groovy and Grails. We have been working on Grails since the release of its version 0.4. We have already deployed couple of applications developed on Grails for clients who are market leaders in their respective domains.
- Why did you decide to sponsor the conference?
Indian companies are not very well known for adoption of new technologies. However, we found huge potential in Groovy/Grails and have been working on it for more than a year. We probably have the biggest team of Grails developers in India. We wanted to communicate that there is a company in India which is doing really serious stuff on Grails. We are witnessing rapid growth in our company, all thanks to Grails & its vibrant community; so it made perfect sense for us to repay the community and also broaden our exposure in the market.
- What do you think makes technologies like Groovy and Grails appealing to your customers?
I think "Technology Companies" have started embracing Groovy and Grails, particularly companies focused on JEE stack. It is the "Business Companies" who are yet skeptical on Groovy and Grails. We have been fortunate to have clients who are technically sound guys and it was not much of a problem to convince them to have their application built on Grails.
It is the RAD capability of Groovy/Grails & the robustness of Java platform which appeals to our customers. Clients love the speed with which we are able to bring their ideas to reality using gr8 technologies - Groovy and Grails.
- Thank you for your sponsorship - we really appreciate the financial backing.
